What Is File Master?
For the people that don't understand what this site is all about here is a little
description of what this is all about. Around a year ago I discovered the idea of making
games available for download, free of charge for a 24 hour demonstration period. At first
I thought that finding such things would be near impossible. After a week or so of
searching for the perfect source for games, I found a site that is one of the main sources
for my server today (for personal reasons I will not reveal this site). By now I had
downloaded several games. I realized that there was no where near enough space for my
collection to grow larger then a few small games. With the money I had at that time, I
decided to buy a 20GB hard drive so that I would have enough space to continue to expand my
colection.
When my collection had reached around 50 games, I decided that I would now share my
colection with the world. So I asked around to see what other people did in the same
situation. I talked to several people about how to become a games server. One of the most
common things I heard, was to think up a name that was original and described what I was all
about. First I thought the name should have the word "Warez" in it, because that was the most
commonly used descriptive word for the type of files I was offering to the world. I later
changed my mind because sites and servers that use the term "Warez" have the reputation of
only being in it for the money. For me, money was not a concern at the time, because I only
wanted to do it for fun, not to become rich off of it. Today my server is knowen as
"File Master" because I deal with large amounts of files and I view myself as a master of my
collection. So hence came the name I am known by.
Today I have a large collection of games as you can see on my Gamez List page where currently I have over 170 games available for
download. The first reason people like my server is because I test every one of my
games to make sure that they work properly. There are some servers, that don't check to make
sure that the files work, they just download them and stick them on their server. Secondly, I
organize and sort all the files of each game in to a zip file for easy one file download.
Thirdly, and probably the most important thing I try to have, is a personal relationship with my users.
I do this by trying to help them out whenever possible by chatting with them and sending out monthly news
letters. Overall, I think File Master is one of the better game servers because I put in that extra effort
to make my users lives easier and more entertaining.
